Build the systems
The software that runs the place: live quoting, customer accounts, CRM, a production board and the order pipeline. Built solo, in production use — not a prototype.
Put AI to work
AI that ships to real users, not a demo — assistants, metadata tooling, and Claude Code in the loop every day.
AI, on the floor
A twenty-year-old print business isn't where most people expect to find AI shipping to real customers. That's exactly what makes it worth doing — taking modern tools into a traditional industry and making them earn their place.
Two assistants, live
Ava — a customer-facing chat widget and an admin-side assistant built on the Anthropic API with a real tool-use layer, wired straight into the platform.
Metadata that obeys the spec
A free ONIX 3.0 tool that lets publishers produce spec-correct records — the unglamorous plumbing the book trade actually runs on.
Built with AI, daily
Claude Code is part of how everything here gets shipped — one person holding a whole stack, moving faster because of it.
What I believe
Print isn't dying. It's changing.
Software is the new press.
If the tool doesn't exist — build it.
Print and software aren't rivals — they're the same instinct, twenty years apart: make the thing that makes the thing. I run the press in the morning and ship the code that prices it by the afternoon. The interesting work has always lived in that overlap.
